About

Here at Beyond Youth Project, our aim is to offer and support schools, parents and most importantly the children who for various reason may be struggling in mainstream school and find it challenging.

We provide an alternative to mainstream education. Where children from different backgrounds, with different needs, are treated with respect, mentored, and guided through the most important period of their young lives.

Hearing the flippant statement ‘some kids just aren’t made for School’ actually has some meaning behind it. From first hand experience, seeing children struggle in mainstream school with behavioural issues, can boil down to core reasons, such as – broken homes/no role model or mentor, depravation/disadvantaged home life, mental health issues, physical or mental conditions, involvement in crime, drug abuse, and much more. This appears in frustration and behavioural breakdowns in mainstream school, essentially leading to temporary or permanent exclusions, more involvement in crime, and increased young people not in education, work or training.

We at Beyond Youth Project believe we are heading down a path to change the slippery slope this area of education is heading in. Bringing the children into our premises, which is far from a normal school environment, we can change the way THEY look at education and training.

What People Say

We have been using Beyond Blackbelt for sessions with our young people in alternative provision for a number of years and cannot recommend Kev and Josh highly enough.

Their ability to positively engage young people who are disengaged from edu- cation, and their genuine care to see them turn their lives around is so evident in all conversations.

I‘m really excited to see that they have set up an alternative provision programme of their own

Jan Appleton, CEO, Eagle’s Nest Project

We’ve been working with and along side local councils, multiple schools and organisations in the area for many years, our sport and mentoring has had a dramatic impact on the groups of children we have been able to work with consistently in this time period.

Every organisation we work with currently are very excited regarding Beyond Youth Project as we all know the positive impact we can achieve, we will get results.

We have been working with Beyond Black Belt Youth Project since May of 2022 when they approached us to support a student who attended their out of school club. Opening an Alternate provision is a huge commitment and the team at BBB worked tirelessly to meet every deadline and criteria in order to become a registered provider. Their dedication to their vision has enabled our school to offer a fantastic opportunity to broaden student opportunities and fulfil their potential in all areas of life. The impact for students is increased engagement in attendance and learning, and a general lift in mood and purpose.

We see a bright future for our students, current and future, through the supportive partnership with BBBYP
