At BYP we offer a range areas for young people to engage in:
- Music, production, and creative writing.
- Workshops, mechanics, trade skills.
- Art and media.
- Physical training, martial arts, fitness.
- Princes trust education schemes.
- Forest school activities.
- Multiple sports.
- Employability/Life skills.
- Mentoring.
Along with a unique scholarship programme as we work closely with Beyond Black Belt martial arts and fitness centre. If a student is with us for 2 days or more per week, we give them a full, all access, membership to BBB, this means that after school hours when the majority of anti-social behaviour and issues occur, they can be in a safe environment, learning physical and important mental lessons, around positive groups of people. This element of removing the student from their known comfort zone, where issues occur is invaluable in making a social change to their life. We offer and encourage the opportunity to hold regular reviews /progress meeting and reports with parents, schools, the local authority and anyone else critical to our students development. To help give them a bespoke Individual Learning plan and goals to aim for.
BYP CENTRE
Our secure centre is fully covered by CCTV, and has a floor of offices and classrooms, quite areas and a small Kitchen.
We also have a floor with a common room, consisting of a games area, pool table, tennis table, table football, chill area and games console.
We have a self built music studio and arts area.
As we work closely with BBB we also have certain times their facility is available to us, this provides a 10,000sqft matted gym, with a cage, ring, bag area, weights/cardio area, and all the associated equipment.
Our staff are all fully DBS checked, safeguarding trained, and first aid trained. With CPD plans in place for continuous improvements.
Every staff member has their own accolades and area of expertise. The team have many years of experience working with and mentoring young people. It’s something that our staff care about and have a passion for!
